Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE breaks cover in Geneva

To emphasize the position of the 599 GTB Fiorano‚ in the sports car division, it is provided the HGTE package that aims at providing a more athletic and more active driving performance.
Through the HGTE pack, technical revisions were introduced to the car‚ configuration and tires to guarantee a firmer grip, more active handling, sharper cornering and enhanced car response without compromising driving pleasure. The package underscores the 599 GTB‚ distinct goal from the other 12-cylinder Ferraris, the 612 Scaglietti, together with the 8-cylinder California, characterizing the GT personality of the current range of Ferrari. Lately, Ferrari is introducing the latest Handling GTE (Gran Turismo Evolusione) pack targeted particularly for highlight further the sportiness and handling of the model. The pack consists of a revised setup with more rigid springs and antir-roll bar at the rear together with new calibration settings for the magnetorheological shocks when the manettino is turned to its sportier setup. Also included in the package, is the lowering of the ride height that consequently effects a lowering of the center of gravity also. Body control is thus enhanced. Also further featured in the package are optimized tires with improved grip based on a tire compound. Instantaneous response to driver command is guaranteed by highly improved car electronics. The gearbox shifts, which are F1-derived, are currently extremely quick in high-performance setups and accelerator response has been strengthened through a new engine software stratagem.
The muffler of the exhaust has been revised to generate a more distinct and exciting audio under high speeds while, on the other hand, still provides the right comfort levels when the car cruises. The package also includes some styling features such as, a particularly athletic exterior, and interior elements in carbon fiber. It comes with 20 inch split-rim wheels fitted with diamond-cut and finished in matte silver. The air diffuser at the back come with a matte black finish to emphasize the vehicle‚ new setup and underscore the tail pipes in chrome. The interior of the car is more athletic too due to a stylish combination of full-grain leather, black Alcantara and trim in carbon fiber. The new seats come with a new two-tone trim of leather with black Alcantara inserts, and carbon fiber trim for the back of the seats. On the headrests are a Prancing Horse and the words ‚ÄòHandling GTE‚Äù are embroidered in stitching contrasts.
