Ferrari displayed five cars (its current range) at the Paris Salon to represent a new generation of the company’s 8- and 12-cylinder models. The F12berlinetta can deliver 740hp and has a light, compact architecture. As a result, it’s the most powerful and high-performance V12 ever assembled. It is displayed alongside a model with a complementary mission, the FF, its revolutionary four-seater four-wheel-drive car which now features a new full-length panoramic roof in a special reflective glass (LowE) that offers passengers a genuine open-air driving feeling, while giving thermal and acoustic insulation. Owners who want a sportier driving experience are targeted by the coupé and the Spider versions of the 458, equipped with the V8 that has won the Best Performance Engine Award for two straight years.
But for those who want more versatility, they’d likely prefer the California 30. The ‘30’ in the name refers to the decrease in weight and boost in horsepower presented on the model earlier this year. These cars were designed to go along with its “Different Ferraris for different Ferraristi” philosophy. Each of them carries out roles that complement each other without having to compromise their DNA. They preserve their uniqueness when it comes to performance, driving enjoyment and sophisticated technologies.
They all provide exclusive design that merges modern styling with conventional cues typical of the marque. Ferrari continues to invest huge sums in its product lineup. This has resulted to the creation of 8- and 12-cylinder engines whose specific power outputs, levels of torque and maximum rev limits are unparalleled. At the same time, they offer better fuel efficiency. The weight of these cars has dropped too due to major innovations. In fact, over 25 different alloys are being developed and produced at the Scaglietti facility, which is dedicated to aluminium fabrication. Some of these alloys are only now being applied in the automotive industry.
