Although car sales are not seeing their best moments, supercars market continues to be an attraction for the wealthy buyers. Despite the debt crisis in Europe, fears of a new recession in the United States and a small slowdown in China, Ferrari is confident that it will see a new record in terms of sales this year. Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo told Automotive News Europe that the company is on track to make another record this year. Back in 2011, Ferrari sold 7,195 vehicles and made an operating profit of 321 million euros. In the first six months of the year, Ferrari sold 3,664 vehicles, which translates into a 7 percent increase compared with the first six months of 2011.

Ferrari’s sales increased by 66 percent in the first half for the V12-powered models and the company expects to achieve record profits in 2012 despite the fact that it made a significant investment in a new engine for its F1 team. As you may know already, Ferrari revealed few months ago the F12 Berlinetta, the so-called “quintessential Ferrari".

Priced at 274,400 euros, this model will go on sale in September in Europe while the United States market will see it in March 2013. This model is powered by a 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated V12, delivering 740 hp and 690 Nm of torque. With these numbers, the F12 Berlinetta hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.1 seconds and 200 km/h (124 km/h) in 8.5 seconds.
