FIA declares F1 diffusers legal!

The verdict from the FIA International Court of Appeal has pronounced legal the double-decker air diffuser designs employed by Brawn GP, Toyota and Williams. After the judges deliberated the issue, the ICA has rejected the appeals lodged by Ferrari, Red Bull Racing and Renault who asserted that the design went against regulations.
As affected parties, BMW Sauber and McLaren also joined the appeal. The court agreed with the findings of the stewards who said that the design complied with applicable regulations. The decision was a great blow to the teams who did not pursue the design concept when they made their cars for 2009 since the double-decker diffusers have been confirmed to contribute to an advantage in the performance of the car.
