Fiat 500C Abarth in the works
After making a great impact and attracting lots of sympathy with the new 500 model, Fiat decided to develop an Abarth version for the new 500 Convertible, a model which would directly compete the Mini Cooper cabrio.
Fiat is still not very opened for detailing about the new model, but some rumours say that the Abarth 500 will feature roll-back canvas roofs to help increase its rigidity but still keep a low weight and two engines, at option, a a 1.4 T-Jet with 138 hp or an Esseesse model with 162 hp. Both versions will have an impressive range of customization options and an extensive level of standard package. Its cost is supposed to reach around 20.000 Euros and will not be released to the market sooner than next year. Even though there is no big difference in price compared to Mini, Fiat is very confident in its advantage as it plans to offer more power and a lot of extra options for the same money.
