While we want to see pictures of the 177bhp Abarth Grande Punto SuperSport, we´ll just have to make do with Fiat's release of the details. The 'SS' upgrade kit means the car is powered by a 177bhp 1.4-litre 16v engine with 199lb ft of torque. It hits 62mph in 7.5sec and has a top speed of 134mph. The Abarth Grande Punto SuperSport boasts to sit on harder springs, performance 215/40 R18 tires and a special design of 18-inch alloy wheels. The car features also include performance brakes, with perforated discs front and rear and uprated pads up front.
For its interiors, the car gets leather racing seats and a Magneti Marelli designed sat-nav system. Providing telemetry, the sat-nav display can show engine revs, vehicle speed and the gear engaged. By setting it to Track mode, the screen displays its position on the track if the car is on a circuit in the SD card's memory.
These telemetry results can be downloaded later. The car comes with a motorsport inspired livery and is available in all standard Abarth colors, including Airfield Grey. Full details will be provided at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week. While no prices have been announced, the Abarth Grande Punto SuperSport will go on sale on September 12.
