Fiat Fiorino takes the “Van of the year” award

The commercial vehicle arm of Fiat Group Automobiles UK Ltd, Fiat Professional, is commemorating a spectacular outcome in the What Van? Van of the Year awards this year. The latest Fiorino, inaugurated last year in May, has been awarded overall Van of the Year, and was also designated top choice in Light Van of the Year category of the publication. In the meantime, Fiat's Scudo garnered the award for Small Panel Van of the Year category."This is wonderful news for us," says the managing director of Fiat Professional Gerry Clarke.
"To receive just one accolade in these prestigious awards is good, but to get three including the main Van of the Year title is absolutely fantastic. It's real recognition for Fiat Professional and its superb range of vans." Produced at the Tofas manufacturing plant in Bursa, Turkey, the Fiorino is branch of a joint project involving Fiat and PSA.
Intended to be quickly and efficiently run in busy towns and cities, it has already captured the imagination of small business proprietors, at the same time drawing the notice of the business' highest board of judges; it is likewise the most recently awarded International Van of the Year 2009 and the present Fleet World Honors Best New Van. Propelled by a selection of engines, such as the 73 bhp 1.4 gasoline and 75 bhp 1.3 MultiJet turbodiesel, the Fiorino, besides providing comfortable and economical motoring also provides safety.
