Here are more details on Fiat's new seven-seat Doblo, which goes on sale early next year. Based on a new, larger platform, the car is claimed to offer more passenger and luggage space than ever before. The boot capacity is 790 liters but with all the seats folded flat, this increases to 3200 liters. To expand the passenger legroom, Fiat lengthened the wheelbase to 2755mm. In Europe, buyers of the Doblo will choose from four engines: a 94bhp petrol, and three diesel Multijet engines with 89bhp, 104bhp and 133bhp.
The lowest-powered diesel emits 129g/km of CO2. On the other hand, a dual-fuel petrol/methane engine, which won´t go on sale in the UK, and an additional diesel engine linked to a Dualogic manual gearbox with paddle shifters will be offered at a later date.
What comes as standard equipment are start-stop, ABS and ESP, while a hill-assist system is also included. Standard tech features include automatic climate control, MP3 stereo, cruise control, parking sensors and Fiat's Blue&Me hands-free system. A TomTom sat-nav is also available. Fiat has yet to give us the pricing list.
