The new celica should be shaped like the first gen,
just back to basics: leight with a strong 1600 twincam engine or a 2000 twincam engine (2tg/18rg --> 4age/3sge)
and of course RWD.

would like to c my 2tg ta28 next to a new similar shaped celica

I have owned a 190 celica for a 4 years now and would comment that the best thing about the new car has got to be the change to rear wheel drive, should be a lot more fun.
Let's hope the new car will have more power upgrades available from the factory or at least be easily tunable by after market tuners ,unlike the last one.

It's a shame Subaru had to stick their ore in, nothing wrong with the 3sgte engine and i'm sure toyota could have improved on their own engine. loving the look though.

i have had a celica since 2000 , having just up graded to one of the last ones manufactured (06). i am eagerly awaiting the new celica but i would prefer a front wheel drive as i find the handling better in snow and ice and believe me we get plenty where i live ! .This will be a large factor as to weather i buy the new model or not. So come on Toyota in my experience front handling cars perform better.

I'm saving for this or the subaru version. Finaly a fun/light/affordable sportcar. And probably better handling than mx5 since engine mass is mounted lover in chassi.

I hope this information is correct and that a 2010 Celica will indeed be on the market.
