Fiat 500C Sketch

The Fiat 500C, the convertible variant of the legendary 500, will have an online preview this week in advance of an introduction at an auto show on Monday, the 16th of February. From the images released by the carmaker, the soft-top will not be for the entire vehicle roofline. This version, reminiscent of the original Fiat 500 convertible, seems to have a roof mid-section that folds backward over the trunk leaving the side pillars and roof rails in their place. This design appears to be established by available spy images. There are three engine options available for the Fiat 500: a 69hp 1.2L gasoline, a 75hp turbo-diesel 1.3L, and a 100hp 1.4L gasoline. Also offered is a Fiat Abarth with 135hp from a 1.4L turbocharged gasoline powerplant. There has been no word if the Abarth team will bring their expertise into the 500C. A registration on Fiat's website is required for accessing the 500C's exclusive images and details.
