2012 Fiat Viaggio

Fiat has revealed the first official photos of its all-new model Viaggio. This new four-door vehicle will make its world preview on April 23 at this year's Beijing International Auto Show. The model's name means "voyage" in English. Its Chinese name is Fei Xiang, which means "flying." This vehicle model is the first Fiat-Chrysler twin project which brought out a world-class all-new automobile featuring high levels of craftsmanship and refinement, breaking the mould in the compact sedan segment of China. The new Fiat Viaggio sedan, which seats five people, provides an exceptional combination of fuel efficiency, power, technology, vehicle dynamics and sophistication, all clad in a characteristic Italian design.

The Viaggio is founded on the Compact US Wide (CUSW) architecture, which is the most highly developed within the Fiat Group. This architecture is also the used in the new Dodge Dart, which was revealed last January at the Detroit Motor Show. It is drawn from the Compact architecture originally built for the best-selling Alfa Romeo Giulietta. The Viaggio sedan is 4,679 mm long and 1,850 mm wide. Its wheelbase is 2,708 mm. The sedan is the new C-segment benchmark with these dimensions. Fiat is bringing this vehicle model, which features the very best of its technological knowledge, refinement and design, into China's largest selling segment.

The Viaggio will be the only automobile in its segment to solely provide refined turbocharged engines. Specifically, the vehicle is fitted with the 1.4l T-Jet in both 150 hp and 120 hp outputs complemented to either the latest Dual Dry Clutch Transmission (DDTC) developed by Fiat Powertrain or a 5-speed manual transmission. The Fiat Group Style Centre in Torino designed the Viaggio. The sedan features sleek, clean, timeless and expressive exterior design which combines curvaceous and fluid forms with strong proportions. It also has a modern Fiat "face" to ensure a distinctive brand identity. Back tail lamps with refined LED lights provide an image of great quality.
