First Rolls-Royce 200EX (RR4) teaser released

Rolls-Royce Logo

The front face of the Rolls-Royce RR4 demonstrates the carmaker's latest design language as can be seen from the mult-spoke polished grill, retractable Spirit of Ecstasy, two-tone body surface color finish and what looks like to be LED head lamps. Currently the RR4 is being designated as the 200EX, a suffix that Rolls-Royce has been utilizing for its new concept cars reminiscent of the original 1EX of 1919 which was employed as a test vehicle for chassis and other engineering solutions. The 200EX is riding atop the latest Bmw 7-Series platform but is 435mm shorter, 42mm narrower and 84mm lower than the Phantom, but has, at 3295mm, a longer wheelbase than the extended wheelbase 7-series.

Although the dimensions of the 200EX have been reduced it still comes with the same comfort and spaciousness as the Phantom. Rolls Royce has been reported to be utilizing thinner gauge steel for the body panels in contrast to aluminum found in the Phantom. Other features the 200EX received from the Phantom are rear doors that open rearward and close at the press of a button. It has also been established that the 200EX will come with a new 500hp V12 engine. The Rolls Royce 200EX will be showcased for the first time early next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
