Delivery of the Nano, the world‚ cheapest car priced at around $2000, has begun. Tata has completed the production of the first batch of 50 units at the Pantnagar factory and is set to hand over the keys to its very first customer. Due to its popularity, a lottery system had to be set up last April to handle the more than 200,000 orders that were received for the initial 100,000 cars. We‚Äôre also glad to report that this week, the Nano passed European crash safety standards. A new Tata factory in Gujarat is expected to absorb the demand as soon as construction work is completed.
