Fisker receives $85 million from investors

This is a bad time to start a company, whether you are making a hybrid or not, most particularly in the US, but that‚ just what Henrik Fisker has done. Unbending in his desire to launch and start production of its Karma electric sedan and S convertible, but without capital invested, his efforts could run out of steam too early.
It was reported, however, that the fledgling carmaker has received a loan of $85 million to assist it in starting production. Two investors supplied the cash: Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, which was one of the first financial institutions to bring capital into Fisker‚ venture and a new investor named Eco-Drive Capital Partners LLC. Although $85 million is a lot of cash, it probably won‚Äôt be enough to launch a new car like the Karma since in this business it takes hundreds of millions to bring out new cars.
