The new Ford Fiesta which outsold Opel helped Ford inch its way toward second place next to Vw, receives approval from the head of marketing, sales, and service of Ford Europe, Ingvar Sviggum. The increased sales volume has helped Ford to boost its European market share up by 1.0 percent making it to the current 8.6 percent. The scramble toward second best seller place in Europe has ended up into a battle between American owned brands. Sviggum was totally pleased by the overwhelmingly successful initial launch of the Fiesta in the UK making it the second best selling vehicle next to the Focus. This only heightens expectations at the forthcoming launch of Fiesta in the U.S.
