Ford enables iTunes Tagging with launch of new HD radio

Ford has some surprises in store for next year. Beginning in 2010, HD Radio receivers will be installed on its cars, giving passengers the access to digital radio signals. In short, radio will have near CD-quality sound. Ford is also offering the first iTunes Tagging system in a factory-installed HD Radioreceiver. Ford said that this offers the customers with the ability to capture a song they hear on the HD Radio receiver for later purchase. With a simple push of the TAG button on the radio display, the song information will be stored in the radio memory.
Up to 100 tagged songs can be stored, until the iPod is connected and they´re downloaded using the Sync function. After that, you can preview and download the tagged songs from the iTunes Store. Mark Fields, president of The Americas, said that iTunes Tagging and HD Radio technology are strong new additions to Ford's convenience features and technology. He added that this is another example of Ford's commitment to be able to bring the widest variety of factory-installed customer-focused technology, features and conveniences to millions of people. Aside from these, 2010 Ford cars will have familiar terrestrial radio, HD Radio technology, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Internet radio through Ford SYNC from a Bluetooth-streaming audio-capable smartphone.
