Although its U.S. sales dropped 25 percent this year, Ford says that the Fiesta will remain an important car in its product lineup. According to Autonews, Fiesta sales fell to 35,385 units in the U.S. through July but there are good news as the Focus sales rose 31 percent to 147,877 units during the same month. Erich Merkle, Ford's U.S. sales analyst says that the market is large enough for the Fiesta and the Focus, although company’s U.S. market share declined to 15.6 percent this year through July from 16.9 percent. Still, Ford has good news from its F-series pickups as these will post a sale increase. So far, Ford F-Series sales increased by 12 percent in the first seven months of this year. Ford expects to sell around 15 million vehicles this year in the United States. [source: Automotive News - sub. required]
