According to the latest reports, NHTSA is investigating Ford Motor Co.'s Fusion and Mercury Milan cars due to fact that floor mats may trap the accelerator pedals. This may affect about 249,300 cars from the 2010 model year, said NHTSA. So far, only three complaints were received while no crashes or injuries have been reported. We do not recommend stacking floor mats in any vehicle by any automaker, said Ford spokesman Said Deep. We´re not aware of any customer complaints or accidents with properly installed floor mats. We´re going to cooperate fully with NHTSA. Currently, the Ford Fusion is the best-selling car from FoMoCo, accounting for 38 percent of the company's U.S. sales of cars through April.
