Ford Iosis Max Concept makes its debut in Geneva

The Iosis Max, the spectacular concept by Ford, demonstrates how the next C-Max mini-MPV will look like when it comes out in 2010 and the succeeding generation of Ford focus will be close at its heels due the following year. The mini-MPV, which is a 4-seat hatch with a raised seating position, comes with a more exciting styling as it attempts to avoid mundane van-like sheet metal. The Iosis Max is loaded with design signals and signature features that will be clearly observed in the succeeding generation of the Focus range.The front face of the Ford Focus RS becomes more muscular with the Iosis Max's more prominent trapezoidal lower grill that comes very close to its gaping front air intake.
There is also a new upper grill that houses the Ford logo. Clearly, the Ford Fiesta inspired the body detailing of the Iosis Max with strong elegant lines above the belt line for an aggressive look. There also some strange details in the Iosis Max that won't probably reach production such as twin sliding doors at the rear and the missing B-pillars. Also, the rear hatch comes with an experimental tech that is too complex for production.
On the other hand, the concept of an individualized window in the rear hatch has already been produced, and is seen on other competition versions, providing owners to get access into the boot in cramped spaces. On the inside, the seats hang from a center tunnel which provides additional space under the seats. The dashboard is an intricate multi-part design that provides hints concerning the future Ford faces with more sculpture-like forms compared to the simpler surfaces of today's models. Power under the hood for the concept is a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder Ecoboost powerplant that can generate 177bhp. According to computer simulations, emissions rating is measured at 125g/km of CO2 when coupled with Ford's Powershift dual-clutch transmission and fitted with stop-start and an intelligent alternator, comparable with the current 90bhp 1.6-liter diesel C-Max. Almost nearing production, the 1.6 Ecoboost powerplant has been reported to be introduced in the new C-max later in 2010.
