Ford Puma preparing a big comeback

Not a few Ford sports car fans will rejoice upon hearing that the Ford Puma is making a grand comeback.

The new Puma is expected to go against the upcoming Honda CR-Z hybrid and Hyundai Veloster. The exterior of the new Puma will be based on the Fiesta design theme while the interior will be a bit similar to Ford's new global compact car.

Power will come from Fiesta's powertrain options including 95-hp 1.4L, a 118-hp 1.6L and a 1.4L and 1.6L TDCi. The Puma will also most likely have the 230-hp 2.0L 4-cylinder EcoBoost under its hood. If you want something sportier, you can opt for an ST version. Unfortunately, we can't expect to see the Puma until at least 2012. Ford will have its plate full in releasing the second-generation C-MAX, third-generation Focus followed by the Kuga and Mondeo Coupe.
