The 2013 Ford Escape crossover is on its third recall ever since it first came out. In this latest recall, 7,600 units are affected. These vehicles, which are powered by the 1.6-liter engine units, run the risk of having their cup plug dislodged. This may lead to a fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has yet to announce the recall. In the U.S., there are 6,150 units affected. If the plug dislodges, the coolant will drain, leading to an immediate fire risk. Ford said that no reports of fires have been reported by customers. However, there was one incident at a dealership. Ford already has the parts required for the repair in stock. It will take over three hours to fix each vehicle. Ford will put more sealant and will place a second plug over the original part. In the second recall announced last July, Ford asked customers to immediately stop driving their vehicles due to the fire risk from a defective fuel line.
