Ford to present “post-kinetic” global design at the 2009 NAIAS

The drive of Ford the next generation of global vehicles will get an improvement with the introduction of a new model at the Detroit Auto Show scheduled for next month, which will showcase the company's most current global design theme. As stated by J. Mays, Ford's design chief, the current model is not part of a "next-generation design language", but instead it is a sign of Ford's "post-kinetic" global design DNA. Mays revealed to Automotive News that the most current design will most importantly be a development of the present 'kinetic' design philosophy employed on vehicles like the Fiesta and Mondeo. Although dynamic and attractive designs are essential in smaller categories such as that which the Fiesta comes under, Mays established that the development for the current model will be "a little more simple" and "a little more elegant", but it will preserve the "best attributes" of the Kinetic design language. Mays also affirmed that the fresh model is not yet ready for production, at least not for more than a year, and that the next versions of Focus and Fusion will come with the same design philosophy.
