Ford to unveil high-performance Focus Concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show

At the Paris Motor Show next month, Ford will be launching an "exciting performance model" of its new Focus. This concept will illustrate the styling of the upcoming front-drive Ford Focus ST and will be powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is able to deliver about 250bhp. Ford confirmed last week that the 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine that is featured in the current ST and RS models will not be used anymore since it fails to meet the upcoming Euro 5 emissions regulations.

Earlier this year, Ford's Derrick Kuzak confirmed plans for a global performance model of the new Focus. He also confirmed that the car will use the new Ecoboost technology, promising it would be exciting to drive and great to look at. The Paris show will also be the venue of the launch of production-ready versions of the new Focus five-door hatchback and estate models before a UK launch in March 2011 in time for the new '11 registration plates.
