Ford Boss 302SX Concept

Ford is considering a plan to add a mid-range track car to the Boss 302S and 302R lineup. A concept dubbed the 302SX was recently debuted at the Performance Racing Industry trade show in Orlando, Florida. The car makes use of features found on the new Cobra Jet drag car and the Boss 302R race car. Its power is enhanced from 444hp (which is standard) to over 500hp due to the use of a built 5.0-liter V8.

In addition, it received several modified parts such as the six-speed transmission used on the 302R. The engine gets help from the updated exhaust, oil and fuel systems. Its performance is truly outstanding from the use of a fully adjustable coilover suspension, adjustable front and rear sway bars, camber/caster plates, Brembo brakes and racing slicks.

Its interior uses lightweight seats to cut back on its weight a bit. It also comes with a quick release steering wheel. Ford has put in a system to record lap times. For now, the 302SX stays as a concept but Ford admits that it is currently testing the market to gauge if this model is worthy to be released. [source: AutoGuide]
