Former GM global sales boss Jonathan Browning joins Volkswagen

Volkswagen AG has named Jonathan Browning as global head of the 10-brand group's national sales companies. In a statement last Friday, VW Group sales and marketing chief Christian Klingler described Browning as an excellent sales and marketing expert who is expected to use his outstanding international experience to direct the national sales companies. Browning had served as General Motors Co. global sales boss. Browning's first day on the job was on June 1. He will report to Klingler and will be based in Wolfsburg. Klinger said, Directing our sales companies is becoming enormously important in the light of internationalization and market dynamics. He added that this is a central pillar in the realignment of its Group sales and marketing organization.
