Former Opel boss Hans Demant will move to Volkswagen

As you may know already, last week we announced you that former Opel boss Hans Demant resigned from General Motors Co. to pursue other professional opportunities. And these opportunities were found at Volkswagen. Yes, Hans Demant will move to Volkswagen AG where will take charge of international project coordination. Demant will start work on October 1 and will report to VW CEO Martin Winterkorn. Apparently, Demant is part of Volkswagen's plan to become the world's largest automaker by 2018 with total sales of more than 10 million vehicles. "The Volkswagen Group's successful growth strategy calls for the intensive coordination of our international projects. We have been fortunate in being able to recruit such an experienced colleague as Hans Demant for this task," Winterkorn said in a statement Tuesday.
