Volvo presented its new Concept Coupe ahead of the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). Inspired by the iconic P1800, the new Volvo Concept Coupe previews the next-generation Volvo models, starting with the forthcoming XC90 in 2014. The first visual impact with the Concept Coupe shows a low bonne, roof and the five-spoke 21-inch wheels.
The front end of the car is characterized by a new topography on the bonnet and a floating grille, flanked by the headlights that feature a new T-shaped DRL light guides.
The rear end features same DRL lights that will be distinctive elements in the new design direction of Volvo Cars. In addition, the Coupe Concept features elements that echo the design of the P1800 from the 1960s.
The interior design is highlighted by a sparkling crystal gear-lever and the large portrait touchscreen. Under the hood, we find a 2.0-liter high-performance Drive-E petrol engine with a supercharger and turbo, paired with an electric motor on the rear axle. The total output delivered by the hybrid system is around 400 hp and over 600 Nm of torque.
