VW reveals all-new offroad Caddy Alltrack in Frankfurt Motor Show

Article by Christian Andrei, on September 18, 2015

The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show was the venue for the unveiling of the latest off-road style version of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Caddy, the Caddy Alltrack. Succeeding the Cross Caddy, this urban delivery van and family multi-purpose vehicle is unique from other Caddy models thanks to distinctive features like its Mojave Beige metallic paintwork and exclusive 17-inch ‘Quito’ alloy wheels, as well as the optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology.

This off-road version of the Caddy is further made distinct by matt silver sill tread plates with the Alltrack logo. Available in passenger car and panel van versions, the Caddy Alltrack features black side sills, black trim panels on the wheel arches, and the lower edges of the bumpers – all giving the Alltrack a robust character.

These features are contrasted by Alltrack parts painted in body color like the vehicle’s bumpers, protective side strips and door handles. Likewise, the Caddy Alltrack’s black designer underbody protection is contrasted by additional silver accents.

Other visual features of this Caddy off-roader include typical Alltrack elements like the three chrome fins in a painted radiator grille, H7 twin halogen front lights, silver exterior mirror housings from the passenger car version, smoked tail light clusters and fog lights.

The vehicle also features Alltrack logos on the front grille and at the rear, and silver roof rails. Inside, the passenger car version of the Alltrack has special 7Summits seat covers with folding tables on the front seatbacks. On the other hand, the panel van version of the Caddy Alltrack has seat covers made of tough Pillion fabric.

Both the passenger car and panel van versions are treated to a leather package – including on the steering wheel, handbrake lever, gear lever boot -- with Muscat-color stitching. Other features for the passenger car version include adjustable center armrest and a chrome package for the rotary light switch, handbrake lever button and power window switches.

This version of the Alltrac also features Carbon Square Dark cockpit décor, Alltrack floor mats with Muscat-color stitching and aluminum-look pedals.

Sitting at the core of the new Caddy Alltrack is any of the available engine and gearbox combinations. In fact, customers could avail of the optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive on their new Caddy Alltrack. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is now selling the Caddy Alltrack in Germany but currently has no plans to sell the vehicle in the United Kingdom

Press Release

The new Caddy – now available as Alltrack version with off-road styling

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be showcasing the latest off-road style version of its best-selling Caddy at the IAA (International Automobile Show) from 15 to 27 September, 2015. The successor to the Cross Caddy is called the Caddy Alltrack. Like its predecessor, it is available both in passenger car and panel van formats. The latest version of the urban delivery van and family MPV is clearly distinct from the other Caddy models with its exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels ‘Quito‘, new Mojave Beige metallic paintwork and optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology.

For everyday driving on unpaved terrain – the custom exterior features or the matt silver sill tread plates with the Alltrack logo signify the rugged version of latest fourth generation Caddy.

Black trim panels on the wheel arches, black side sills and the lower edges of the bumpers give it a robust appearance. They form a contrast to the parts painted in the body colour, such as the bumpers, protective side strips and door handles, and emphasise the off-road look of the new Alltack. The black designer underbody protection is set off by additional silver accents.

Other visual highlights of the Caddy's off-road brothers include some typical Alltrack features like the three chrome fins in a painted radiator grille, the silver exterior mirror housings from the passenger car version, H7 twin halogen front lights, fog lights, smoked tail light clusters, Alltrack logos on the front grille and at the rear, and silver roof rails.

Inside the passenger car version, the Alltrack has its own special 7Summits seat covers plus folding tables on the front seatbacks. The seat covers in the panel van are made of tough Pillion fabric. Both vehicle variants feature a leather package (steering wheel, handbrake lever, gear lever boot) with Muscat-colour stitching. The passenger car has a variety of other attractive features, including adjustable centre armrest and a chrome package (rotary light switch, mirror adjustment / power window switches, and handbrake lever button), aluminium-look pedals, Alltrack floor mats with Muscat-colour stitching and Carbon Square Dark cockpit decor.

As well as its good looks, the Caddy also has plenty to offer beneath the surface. Based on the latest generation Caddy, comes with many features from its high-quality Comfortline equipment variant and can be ordered with any of the engine and gearbox combinations from the Trendline range. This currently covers the four efficient 2.0 l TDI diesel engines with 75 to 150 PS and the three low-emission 1.0 l, 1.2 l and 1.4 l TSI petrol engines with 84 to 125 PS, plus the economical 1.4 TGI natural gas engine delivering 110 PS. Depending on the engine, there is a choice between the 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearbox or the 6-speed and 7-speed DSG gearbox. The new Caddy Alltrack is also optionally available with 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

The Caddy Attack comes with Hill Hold function as standard, and the passenger car variant also has a manual air conditioning system, Light and Sight package (with automatically dimming rear-view mirror, daytime running lights with automatic switching, ‘coming home’ and ‘leaving home’ functions, and intermittent wiper function with rain sensor), a speed limiter and the Composition Colour radio with 5-inch touchscreen.

Prices for the new Caddy start at €16,485.00 net for the panel van (€19,617.15 gross) and €20,470.00 net for the passenger car version (€24,359.30 gross), each with the 84 PS TSI entry-level engine. The European market launch of the Caddy Attack is planned for end of 2015.
