Volkswagen will be presenting its extensively updated Golf Cabriolet four-seater soft-top at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA). The updates are easily recognizable; among which are the sportier front bumper, the striking side sills and sporty accents on the rear bumper.
Not only that, customers can now choose from more configuration options for their new cabriolet. VW added six new exterior colors, an additional soft-top color and six new wheel designs. The German carmaker also added a new generation of steering wheels and new trim elements.
VW also added new designs for the cloth and leather seats. Likewise the engines that can be fitted in the Golf Cabriolet were also uprated to model year 2016 and are now Euro 6 emissions-compliant. Customers can choose from four petrol (TSI) and two diesel (TDI) engines– all direct-injection turbo powerplants with matching torques.
Inside the cabin, customer can find the Composition Colour and Composition Media radio/infotainment systems. Discover Media navigation system can be availed as a supplement to the Composition Media. Also available is Car-Net, which includes Guide & Inform as well as App Connect smartphone integration.
Guide & Inform allows Golf Cabriolet owners to use Internet-based information channels like Online Traffic Information, News, the Vehicle Status Report and Weather. This feature also allows drivers to find restaurants, museums or cinemas in a certain area or to locate free parking spaces in car parks -- and then integrate them in the route guidance system.
