Mercedes-Benz Vans will display the Viano Vision Pearl at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show this September. This showcar was developed specifically to prove that there are no limits in the van sector.
The automaker said that the Viano Vision Pearl is inspired by the modern sporting yachts. The Viano Vision Pearl could carry six passengers and features a full leather interior in white/grey, wood floor, brushed aluminum trim, chromatically tinting windows and the Bang & Olufsen high-end sound system "BeoSound Viano".
The luxury van design concept also boasts of having onboard W-LAN connectivity. This model marks the first time that a Mercedes-Benz van used the "magno pearl grey", a matt, pebble-grey exterior paint finish. Integrated LED daytime running lamps could be seen prominently at the front end of the Viano.
In a company statement, Mercedes said that the Viano was designed on the belief that “the travelling time itself becomes part of the experience.”
Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, describes the van as the “perfect travelling companion” that isn’t just a functional van but is actually a living space that was stylishly designed. He believes that because of its design and technical elements, the Viano Vision Pearl is the “S-Klasse among vans."
Nowadays, travelling in a vehicle has become part of the experience and not just a means to an end. The new Viano Vision Pearl from Mercedes-Benz is fully capable of taking his experience to its full potential with its generous roominess, elegant interior design and excellent technical elements. Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, remarked that the Viano Vision Pearl is not just a functional van, but is also a stylishly designed living space.
It should prove to be an ideal vehicle for those who place importance to stress-free and stylish travel. He added that its interior design and technical features should make the Viano Vision Pearl the S-Class among vans.
By endowing the Viano with the name Vision Pearl, Mercedes-Benz Vans is able to highlight the van’s design concept and repositioning as a perfect travelling companion. One of the elements that make the Viano Vision Pearl a viable living space is the "BeoSound Viano" high-end sound system, a result of the collaboration between Mercedes and Bang & Olufsen.
It marks another partnership between the two companies, which have been collaborating since 1999 to integrate high-end sound systems into passenger cars like the Mercedes S-Class.
The 1,320-watt BeoSound Viano high-end sound system – higher than the 1,200-watt audio system in the S-Class – features 18 integrated, specially hand-built loudspeakers. These loudspeakers have their own housing, which allows very little amount of sound to escape outside the Viano.
