Nissan will unveil a new production model at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model will have its global debut at 1:15 pm CET on Sept. 10, 2013, at Nissan’s stand in Hall 8. Nissan is targeting to become the top Asian car brand across Europe by 2016, and could already lay claim as the best-selling brand in major markets in the region like France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Guillaume Cartier, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, for Nissan in Europe, remarked that despite the downturn in the overall market in Europe, the carmaker managed to achieve record market share in 2012, adding that Nissan is on target to match that achievement this year.
The new production model, which is aimed at reinventing the sports utility vehicle, will be joined by the Friend-Me Concept car that was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013.
The study showcases Nissan’s next generation design language as well as explores the possibilities of a fully connected, fully interactive cabin. The concept was designed through the same process that sparked the carmaker’s range of crossovers and was meant to explore how the car of the future may look.
Nissan created the Friend-Me to cater to the needs and desires of “permanently online passengers,” positioning itself as a hub for information and entertainment.
Nissan is also set to introduce at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show its new personalization program. This program proved to be highly successful for the Juke range, and Nissan seeks to expand it to include the new Note and new Micra.
The expanded program will also feature more accessories and color options to choose from. Nissan is likewise introducing an innovative a new 3D web configurator that allows customers to preview their dream design on every possible angle.
