Tuning company Gemballa displayed how it tweaked the Porsche Panamera at the 2011 Top Marques Monaco Show. Dubbed the Mistrale, the car now has a heavily modified body with unique front and rear ends plus a series of bespoke aero parts. Its new body has a different look but it also offers a considerable weight reduction.
Andreas Schwarz, CEO of Gemballa, said that instead of cutting into the steel panels and bonding on new parts (which is what most aftermarket projects accomplish), Gemballa totally replaced entire panels with bespoke carbon-fibre ones that use the original mounting points.
As a result, the Panamera is almost indistinguishable as it appears like a matt-finished futuristic army limousine half-breed. The vehicle also gets a set of recently styled 22-inch alloy wheels, which weigh the same as the stock 20-inch rims from Porsche. Gemballa said that to make these cars unique, the key ingredients are “design, cutting edge technology and the finest materials.” Gemballa said that only 30 Mistrale units will be made to mark its 30th anniversary this year.
