The production of the Cadillac XLR, which is manufactured at the GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant, is on GM's cancellation list which will take effect this coming spring affecting about 40 personnel which are dedicated only to the XLR
They have already been informed of the cut but no word has been released the exact time they will be laid off. All in all there are 154 workers, both in the assembly of the XLR and Corvette, who are under indefinite lay off due to the financial crisis GM is in at the moment.
The production stoppage is intended to conserve much needed cash by GM and the decision came as a result of the poor sales performance of the XLR last year.
