General Motors still hopes to sell Saab

In a recent interview, a Swedish government official said that GM still has great hopes that it will sell the Saab brand.
"I talked to GM last night and my impression is that they have not given up hope," said Joran Hagglund, state secretary at Sweden's Industry Ministry.
Of course, it will be a race against time to find a new buyer for Saab and no bidders have so far emerged for the brand which means that GM's only options would be to restart the sale process or to wind down the business.
Winding down the business would be the more likely option; so this means that after Pontiac brand was axed, Saab could follow it too! [via autonews]
