2010 Mazda6 Facelift

The new generation Mazda5 and the refreshed Mazda6 family will appear alongside each other at the Geneva Motor Show. The Mazda6 will be available in three variants: sedan, hatchback and wagon will all have updated exterior and interior styling features, as well as revised powertrains. The new Mazda6 is sportier with its new headlamps and rear lamps with chrome-look plating and a wing motif, new flowing-design fog lamp bezels, as well as new lightweight 17 and 18-inch wheel designs. For its interior, the car has been given new dials and knobs with high-quality chrome-look plating, new piano-black trim for the audio and climate control panels and the steering wheel spokes, new dashboard decoration panel finishes and new patterns for seat upholstery.

Safety is enhanced with technologies such as the Hill Launch Assist (HLA), a swivel-type adaptive front lighting system (AFS) for improved curve illumination, and an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) system. A ten body color palette is available. This includes two colors new to Mazda (Clear Water Blue Mica and Midnight Bronze Mica) as well as two colors new to the Mazda6 (Graphite Mica and Black Mica).

With regards to performance, the new MZR 2.0 DISI petrol shown, which replaces the MZR 2.0 petrol except in Russia and the Ukraine, develops 114 kW/155 PS and 193 Nm of maximum torque, while using 6.9l/100km (combined) and emitting less CO2. The engine is coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission with optimized torque converter. The other powertrains in the range include the MZR-CD 2.2 turbo diesel common-rail engine with a smaller turbocharger, offered in three refined power derivatives that use less fuel and comply with Euro V emission standards. The top-of-the-line MZR 2.5 petrol and the MZR 1.8 petrol engines generate more power and emit less CO2. Another feature is Mazda's new single-nano technology catalyst for a reduced use of precious metals.
