Geneva Motor Show: Kia No3 Concept

Kia No3 MPV ConceptThe latest concept car from Kia called the No 3 is a design by Peter Schreyer, who used to work for VW/Audi. The No 3 is a small hatch with a length of about 13.27ft (4,045mm) demonstrates the new image of Kia with the front grill, headlights, and logo providing clear clues as to how future Kias might look like.

The car’s Titanium Grey finish provides a stunning depth of color that highlights its curves and lines. Featured on the No 3 is a specially extended windshield and glass roof with panoramic view supported by a diagonal bar and an automatic sun visor. Although it looks like a hatch, it is technically an MPV, although difference in body styles and functionality is just an intellectual exercise. Unfortunately for American buyers, the car is intended only for the markets of Europe. Photo gallery after the jump!

The Korean carmaker said that this concept model will lead to a production version that is a little over 4,000mm long. With plans for growth in countries like India and China the diminutive has to compete with fellow Korean Hyundai and the Japanese Suzuki and Honda.

Although the car comes with a short overall length, placing the wheels at the corners and minimizing overhang has permitted the small car to maintain a fairly long wheelbase of about 8.6ft (2.615mm). This helps in keeping the car stable at speed and also provides more cargo and passenger room in the cabin. The production version that will come out of the No 3 project will be coupled with the exterior size of a B-segment vehicle with the interior and functionality of a C-segment.
