This is the Bufori Geneva, a new luxury sedan which was officially unveiled today, at the Geneva Motor Show. Code named Bufori MKVI, the new vehicle received the Geneva nameplate after the city it was launched in, according to company's founders Mr. Anthony Khouri, George Khouri and Gerry Khouri.
The new car features classic design elements such as the long running boards but also state-of-the-art bi-xenon headlamps and LED rear lights. What's under the hood is really interesting as the Bufori Geneva features an impressive 6.1-litre V8 engine fitted with hemispherical cylinders capable to generate 430 hp and 569 Nm of torque.
With these numbers the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds while the top speed is 260+ km/h. Bufori offers also an optional supercharger which boosts the engine to 560 hp and 690 Nm of torque.
Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an adaptive automatic transmission and limited slip differential. The semi-monocoque body of the Bufori Geneva is made of state-of-the-art Hybrid Carbon Fibre and Kevlar which is infused with Vinylester resin.
This stronger-than-steel innovation provides supreme strength, light-weight and superior structural integrity as well as a lifetime of minimum maintenance. The Bufori Geneva is the first saloon in the world to commercially use such innovative materials.
The new vehicle comes with an impressive list of driver aids such as Anti Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Steering Angle Control and Adaptive Cruise Control.
As an option a Thermal Imaging Night Vision camera is offered, as well as Lane Departure Warning (LDWS), HUD (Heads-up Display) and Active Cruise Control. The production is scheduled to start in June 2010 with the first units delivered before year end.
Each Bufori Geneva moves through 24 production stages and requires more than 6,000 man hours to create.
Bufori Co-Founder and Managing Director Gerry Khouri revealed that its newest model introduces what is considered as the first of the new generation of vehicles from Bufori. The company is proud of what it has achieved as it took almost 2 years to develop this model, he continued.
Joe Lim, Managing Director of Bufori Sales & Marketing, meanwhile said that the company remains pleased with the introduction of this model as authorized dealers and customer have long awaited a four-door BUFORI. Lim added that the company is confident that the new model will surpass all expectations.
General Manager & Marketing & International Business Development of Bufori Felix Haller also shared that the goal of the company was to provide a real alternative, at a global level, to the luxury saloon class.
The new model has a timeless modern classic style, high quality and attention to detail as well as shows traditional craftsmanship and offers boundless customization options. According to Haller, this shows that the company has created a unique vehicle that embodies its DNA.
The Bufori Geneva is aimed at those who have passion when it comes to automotive technology and design but are not able to relate to the current offerings of lacklustre and mass-produced luxury cars.
