With just two days ahead of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Hamann revealed the Hawk, an extreme version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. The first visual impact with the SLS AMG Hawk shows us an exciting car body design coloured in Everose Gold.
Also, the car features a new body kit consisting of a new front apron with larger air inlets and daytime running LEDs, a new carbon fiber bonnet, enlarged front and rear fenders (60mm on each front side and 70mm on each rear side), a new rear apron with integrated exhaust system with four enormous end pipes each measuring 90 mm in diameter and an impressive rear wing made of checkered flag carbon.
The design is completed by the 21-inch wheels wrapped in high-performance tires. Moreover, the car also received a coilover kit which can lower it by up to 30 millimetres. Inside, the car features the most delicate leather and ultra-suede, applications and embroideries.
Under the hood, the 6.2 litre engine delivers an impressive 636 hp / 468 kW and a maximum torque of 680 Nm (standard version delivers 563 hp an 650 Nm of torque), enough to push the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds and to a top speed of 320 km/h (200 mph).
The HAMANN HAWK has an incredible appearance that’s matched with outstanding driving performance and impressive aerodynamics from having been tested in the wind tunnel. Its serial bumper meanwhile has been replaced with a front apron. As a result of its shape, the front axle experiences less uplifting forces. Giving this two-seater a more dynamic look are the new LED lights combined with the larger air inlets.
The air inlets also have a functional aspect as it helps the engine get better access to fresh air. After that, the air is of course drawn out of the bonnet composed of a checkered flag carbon. The wing measures 60 mm on each of the front side while for the rear side it measures 70 mm. This gives the vehicle that impressive look even if it has yet to move. While the side skirts highlight the rims, they result in giving this two-seater a more stretched and lower look.
Since the front axle and the rear axle experience downforce, HAMANN made sure that the rear wing of the SLS is composed of checkered flag carbon in order to balance out this downforce. Its rear apron on the other hand has a diffuser that helps improve the air flow underneath the car.
The rear apron also offers enough room to fit four large end pipes with each having a diameter of 90 mm. To make sure that control is perfectly mixed with comfort, the brand utilized the single-part light-forged 21-inch "Unique Forged Anodized" wheels. Fitted to them are the 9Jx21 with tyres that measure 245/30 ZR 21 for the front axle while the rear axle has the 12.5Jx21 with tyres that measure 345/25 ZR 21.
