This is the Toyota Yaris HSD Concept which was promised to us by the Japanese manufacturer for the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The new car previews the upcoming production version of the Yaris Hybrid – which means that you will need to remove those fancy headlights, add a new bumper, remove the tinted windows and voila – this is the production version. Toyota says that some of the styling cues identify the car as a hybrid.
These elements are the flat vertical ‘aero’ corners which minimize air turbulence, a large rear spoiler, underbody covers and the new 18-inch aero wheels. Moreover, the car features a hybrid-specific white pearl paintwork.
Regarding the engine, Toyota didn’t reveal any details but according to the Japanese manufacturer the new car uses the well-known Hybrid Synergy Drive found also on the Prius. As the Prius, the new Yaris HSD Concept offers three driving modes: EV, EVO and POWER.
