This is the brand new 2013 Lexus RX 450h, firm’s new model that carries the same design philosophy introduced by the 2013 GS. As expected, the SUV is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine delivering 245 hp and 234 lb.-ft of torque. Combined with the electric motor, the RX 450h delivers a total output of 295 hp.
Regarding the design, the new RX 450h comes with a new front bumper, new front grille, a new set of headlamps featuring LED daytime running lights and rear-end styling tweaks. The design is completed by the well-known 18" or 19" aluminium wheels but for the 2013 RX a new set of new 19" alloy wheels is available.
Moreover, Lexus offers four new exterior colors: Satin Silver, Burgundy Red, Sienna Brown and Midnight Blue. The interior of the car was also updated and features an expanded choice of colour schemes, new trim finishes, a new steering wheel, a revised instrument binnacle and a second generation Remote Touch Interface (RTI).
The choice of trim inserts has also increased; luxurious Walnut and classic Dark Grey complimented by the addition of modern, Dark Grey bird's eye maple and F SPORT-exclusive Silver finishes.
What is really interesting is that the RX 450h is equipped with a new Hybrid System Indicator design featuring clearly delineated, Charge, Eco and Power zones. New ambient illumination changes according to both driving conditions and the selected drive mode. Just like the current model, the 2013 Lexus RX 450h will offer four driving modes: Normal, Sport, ECO and EV.
