At the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show, the first production model from Qoros will be unveiled together with the Qoros 3 Cross Hybrid Concept. This crossover model comes with a compact hatchback body and an advanced hybrid drivetrain. It introduces the use of signature styling themes on the Qoros 3 Sedan to potential compact hatchback and crossover models in the future.
The crossover gets stunning new styling elements that show off the strong, versatile characteristic of this model. Qoros considers the development of advanced engineering innovations as a core strategic activity. Furthermore, the Cross Hybrid concept is equipped with an advanced hybrid drive system. It is powered by a three-cylinder turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine that was fitted transversely at the front.
It also gets an electric motor positioned higher than the rear axle. It has a second electric motor dubbed the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that is incorporated between the petrol engine and the transmission. An inventive all-wheel driving experience is the result of the interaction between the two drive units and the ISG.
Because of the intelligent control software, the model is guaranteed to offer a smooth transition between petrol-engine front-wheel drive, electric motor rear-wheel drive, and an all-wheel drive mode. This will depend on the mode that offers the highest efficiency in response to the driver’s inputs and the current road conditions.
