The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce (SV) became official at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and as expected, the new model is lighter and more powerful when compared with the standard Aventador. The 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that powers the vehicle develops 750 hp (552 kW) at 8,400 rpm and 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.
According to Lamborghini, the Aventador LP 750-4 SV is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, while top speed is in excess of 350 km/h or 217 mph. Lamborghini says that every single details of the Aventador Superveloce was optimized in order to achieve the lowest possible weight and the vehicle features a carbon fiber monocoque with lightweight aluminum frames serially produced for this model.
Meanwhile, the carbon fiber door panels and new rockers and fenders in SMC superlight, as well as the carbon fiber rear wing reduce the weight even more. Lamborghini did the same thing with the interior and installed new sports buckets made of carbon, while excluding the infotainment system (available as no cost option), carpets and certain noise insulation parts.
Thanks to the improvements, the Superveloce is 50 kg (110 lbs) lighter than the standard model and now has a weight of 1,525 kg (3,362 lbs). This means that the power-to-weight ratio was improved by 10 percent, to 2,03 kg/hp. When it comes to driving dynamics, the coupe’s pushrod suspension system incorporates adaptive Magneto Rheological Suspension (MRS) on the Superveloce, which immediately responds to road conditions and driving style.
In addition, there is a new electromechanical Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), able to adapt the steering ratio to road speed and to the dynamic mode selected. The vehicle sits on 20-inch forged rims in matt black at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear. Just like in motorsport, the wheels can be equipped as an option, with central locking mounts.
Behind the wheels, there are Carbon Ceramic Brakes offered as standard. There is also a new exhaust system, which shows four tailpipes at the rear and delivers a proper sound of the mighty 12-cylinder engine.
The Italian manufacturer says that the overall aerodynamics were optimized by 150% in term of efficiency, while the downforce was improved by 170% over the standard Aventador.
Regarding the design, there is a new front end that features a new front skirt and two front wings (one in black carbon fiber and one in the vehicle’s color), as well as larger front air intakes.
The rear end shows a new carbon fiber fixed wing, a large air diffuser and a large mesh structure that ensures heat dissipation from the V12 engine. A special colours called Rosso Bia, was developed for this model, while fiver further colors are available too. Pricing starts at 327,189 euros and the vehicle will have its market introduction in late spring. [source: Lamborghini]
