Volkswagen’s Sharan MPV has just received some technical updates and will be shown at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. According to the German carmaker, the new Sharan will be available with a wide range of infotainment system that guarantees full connectivity to plenty of smartphones, but also with numerous convenience and assistance systems.
As a result, the 2015 Sharan arrives with standard Automatic Post-Collision Braking System as well as optional assistance systems such as ambient traffic monitoring system Front Assist with integrated City Emergency Braking, Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), but also the 3rd generation of Park Assist and the Blind Spot Monitor.
The engines are now up to 15 percent more fuel-efficient and all conform to the Euro-6 emissions standard. The Sharan is available with two TSI petrol engines that produce 150 hp (110 kW) and 220 hp (162 kW), which means that the power of the strongest petrol engines is increased by 20 hp (15 kW).
Meanwhile, diesel engines are offered at three power levels: 115 hp (85 kW), 150 hp (110 kW) and 184 hp (135 kW). All engines, except the 115 hp TDI, can be equipped with the 6-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG). When it comes to connectivity, the Sharan is one of the first VW vehicles to get the “App Connect”.
