Finally, a new Subaru concept car was unveiled at the 86th Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland. According to Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI) who owns and manufactures the known Japanese brand, the new Subaru XV Concept previews a new model in company's lineup.
Subaru revealed during the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show its Subaru XV Concept. With this concept, the brand hopes to gives consumers a glimpse of where the next generation of Subaru vehicle is headed especially with the compact crossover.
This XV Concept best symbolizes the next-generation of the brand’s ‘DYNAMIC X SOLID’ design philosophy. It can be seen with the raised ground clearance and solid appearance that point to the All-Wheel Drive capability and go-anywhere capability of the Subaru.
Dividing the muscular body surfacing are two strong character lines. The first starts from the front bumper and then goes to the doors and ends in the rear shoulder. The second one meanwhile rises from the lower half of its doors and then to rear of the car.
The silhouette of the cabin narrows and then tightens a little as the bodywork goes to the rear. This gives it the appearance of athleticism and energy and not at the expense of its characteristic crossover practicality.
Looking at the front, one can clearly see the brand’s trademark hexagonal grille and the ‘hawk-eye’ headlamps. Its matt black body covering allows it to brush off light impacts and even scrapes in either an urban or rural setting.
The cladding starts from its front bumper and then runs above the wheel arches and its side sills eventually leading to the bumper in the rear. The rear portion of the car meanwhile has the same highly stable and low stance seen on the front.
The rear bumpers are clad in matt black and the powerful shoulders over them go up and meet the rear combination lamps. Much like the ‘hawk-eye’ headlamps on the front, the rear lights also follow a similar design motif.
For the XV Concept, the brand gave it the ‘Glacier Khaki Silica’ paint finish. This is a new blue-grey tone that brings to mind the look of glacier ice. The grille has distinctive orange highlights which are also in the front bumpers, the rear bumpers, roof rails, and the aluminum 19-inch wheels.
