Bertone is expected to be an attention-getter at the Geneva Motor Show with its plan to unveil the sports-car Nuccio concept. The Nuccio concept is a tribute of the Italian design house to one of its most famed constructor, Giuseppe “Nuccio” Bertone, in line with the company’s centenary celebration. The Nuccio concept is a mid-engine berlinetta built on a one-box design.
The Nuccio signifies a possible new styling direction for Bertone, using the Geneva as the kickoff for far-reaching series displays around the world, including the motor shows at Laguna Seca and in Beijing.
Bertone’s new bespoke products have consistently been show-stealers at the Geneva motor show. In 2010, Bertone unveiled a bespoke sports-car concept dubbed the Pandion, in celebration of Alfa Romeo’s 100 years.
In 2011, Bertone wowed the show with its Jaguar design study named the B99, which was considered as a preview for the future luxury sedan. Aside from the B99, Bertone also worked on a racing GT version. Nuccio Bertone is the son of the company’s founder, Giovanni. He is credited for growing the business to a designing powerhouse. Nuccion was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in Detroit in 2006.
