Geneva Motor Show: 2012 Dacia Lodgy has starting price of just €9,900

Where else can you find a vehicle that offers great value for money and is reliable and practical at the same time? Try finding one at Dacia. Known for producing vehicles that exudes value for money without sacrificing quality, Dacia is now offering five- and seven-seater variants of the Dacia Lodgy for a measly starting price for €9,900.

The Dacia Lodgy has dimensions of 4.5 metres in length and 1.75 meters in width, which are well reflected by the car’s contours and proportions. The Lodgy features a grille moulded around the Dacia logo and sharp lines that highlight the sculptured wheel arches, giving it a semblance of corporate aura.  Dacia made sure that the Lodgy’s interior gets enough room to easily accommodate its intended number of passengers.

The seven-seater Lodgy features a third row designed to accommodate two adults. The third row offers knee and head room measurements of 144mm and 866mm respectively, offering a more than comfortable ride for two adult passengers. The two rearmost seats are installed with Isofix fittings to allow child seats and booster cushions to be attached safely and securely. As for features, the Dacia Lodgy won’t be left behind. It offers a brand-new MEDIA NAV multimedia system, which could be installed for only around €430.

The MEDIA NAV allows radio, auxiliary sockets for MP3 players, Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation to be accessed through a single seven-inch (18cm) touch-sensitive display. MEDIA NAV’s main menu allows the driver to access six basic functions: radio, media, telephone, route map, satellite navigation and settings. Drivers of the Dacia Lodgy could also make hands-free telephone calls as well as synchronize their contacts book and previous call registry using the Bluetooth technology.

This technology also allows drivers to audio-stream remote music players through the car's own speaker system. Drivers could also connect their iPods or smartphones through USB or jack sockets at the dash panel. The gadgets can be operated through either the touch-sensitive display or the steering wheel-mounted controls. Track titles could be seen on the MEDIA NAV screen.

The Dacia Lodgy comes with a variety of petrol and diesel engine choices that would suit any driver’s needs. Dacia is offering two petrol engine versions: the 1.6 MPI and the turbocharged TCe 115 with direct fuel injection. The TCe 115 is a result of the Renault Group's petrol engine technology, which includes the turbocharged, direct-injection combination that was first installed in Mégane and Scénic Collection 2012 lineups.

Although having only a capacity of 1.2 liters, the TCe 115 offers a performance comparable to that of a 1.6 liter engine.  But because of its low capacity, TCe 115 offers excellent fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. Dacia also offers two diesel engine options: the dCi 90 and dCi 110, both of which are based on the 1.5 dCi block that is acclaimed worldwide for reliability and performance. The diesel engines qualify for the company’s eco signature, which signifies low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
