Geneva Motor Show: Bentley Continental Flying Star by Touring Superleggera

Article by Andrew Christian, on August 29, 2010

This is the Bentley Continental Flying Star by Touring Superleggera, a stylish transformation of a 2-door coupe in a shooting brake with plenty of space to join a hunting party or a golf tournament which keeps the elegance and efficiency, which made its debut today at the Geneva Motor Show.

The new car is based on the Bentley Conginental GTC and features an extended roof line, a wider section including the doors, new aluminium door skins and a new all-aluminium, electrically operated tailgate as well as a completely new rear compartment with two foldable rear seats and a variable loading space.

The design is completed by the impressive 20-inch Borrani X-Ray spoke wheels. As you expected, inside, the car remains a true Bentley showing elegance, whether the back of the rear seats are folded or not. Under the hood, the Bentley heart remains the same: an impressive 6.0-litre W12 engine capable to deliver 560 hp and 650 Nm oh torque, or 610 hp and 750 Nm of torque if the car is based on the GTC Speed.

The car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited to 322 km/h. The model you see in the photos is CEE homologated according to the new low-volume production directive.

For the first time since its introduction, the type approval was awarded without destructive test, using simulation and FEM-analysis. Regarding the price.... please relax before you read it! The car is offered at a basic price of 2.590.000 euros when based on a Continental GTC - 560 hp. This means that the car you see in the photos, because it is based on the GTC Speed is a lot more expensive.
