The new 2011 Porsche Panamera S Hybrid is a high-performance car that offers impressive fuel efficiency ratings. The new car made its debut today at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and Porsche announced that its new hybrid can generate a maximum power of 380 hp (279 kW) but it only uses up 6.8 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers (41.54 mpg).

The Panamera S Hybrid releases only 159 grams of CO2 per kilometer, which means that it has the best figure in its class. It also gets the title of being the most economic Porsche of all time.

The hybrid underwent comprehensive testing with Michelin's lower rolling resistance all-season tires made specifically for the Panamera and offered as an option.

Its standard equipment figures remain impressive with fuel consumption of 7.1 l/100km (39.79 mpg) and 167 grams of CO2 per kilometer. When it comes to performance, the hybrid is phenomenal.

It can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.0 seconds, and it can reach at a maximum speed of 270 km/h (168 mph). In driving mode alone, the car can be driven up to 2 kilometers (1.24 miles), with a maximum speed of 85 km/h (53 mph).

Panamera S Hybrid is scheduled for a June 2011 release. It is priced at EUR106,185 in Germany, including VAT and country-specific equipment.

Looking at the interior equipment, it is clear that the ones inside the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid are on the same level as that of the eight-cylinder Panamera S and its high standards. Fitted as standard in this new model is partial leather that has been embossed in leather, which comes in three different colors. Bi-color combinations are also available as well as smooth leather and natural leather. A number of decorative trims are offered such as aluminum or carbon.

In fact, there are as many as five wood trims being made available for customization. Highlighting these decorative trims are the galvanized aluminum strips. There are different personalization options being offered and include something as small as having a Porsche badge on the headrest leather. The seats in the front are comfortable and give a sporty feel. It can even be adjusted electronically up to a maximum of eight positions to better enhance travel comfort.

On the rear portion meanwhile, the two separate seats come with a foldable center armrest thereby offering substantial headroom and legroom for everyone. While the heating is standard on the front seats, ventilation is offered as a feature. In order to be able to improve this particular seating system, there is a Comfort Memory package that includes Adaptive Sport Seats and 14-way adjustment. Offered as options are the electrical 18-way adjustment and raised side bolsters.

Much like other models of the brand, there is a two-zone climate control that delivers separate temperature settings and even air distribution for the driver and the passenger. Upon the request of the buyer, a four-zone climate control can be included. With the number of comfort functions and the available communication and audio equipment, it is clear that the Panamera is able to set new benchmarks when it comes to the luxury car segment.

For the Panamera S Hybrid, the command center has a 7-inch touch screen that can be combined with the CDR-31 audio system. There is also the option to combine the touch screen with the Porsche Communication Management that has a navigation module. One of the top features of this Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is its high graphics resolution of the screen that makes it possible to display a 3D map. A splitscreen mode function allows two vehicle functions to be displayed at once like the routing guidance list or navigation map.

There are also a number of attractive functions carried by the PCM like having an integrated telephone module, voice control system, electronic logbook, and Bluetooth connection for mobile phones. A universal audio interface is also offered as an option which can connect a number of devices like a USB or iPod. Passengers in the rear, upon request, can get to enjoy their very own personal entertainment program. Included is the Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment, from Porsche Exclusive.

It comes with two consoles that have that have been integrated to the backrests of its front seats. It allows for a 7-inch TFT screen to swivel and incorporated with it are players and even wireless infrared headphones. For easy operation, it is possible to use the touch screen with the consoles of the screen wrapped in leather to match the interior. Panamera S Hybrid will also have the 545-watt BOSE Surround Sound System.

However unlike other models like the Gran Turismo, the subwoofer is not placed in the floor of the luggage compartment but instead is now part of the loading edge of its luggage compartment. This was done to make sure that there was enough space for the traction battery as well as the cooling system. When combined with the PCM, it offers an amazing sound spectrum of digital recordings amounting to 5.1 recordings especially when listening to video DVDs or audio.

The equipment in the cabin even plays CDs with the stereo format and its surround mode. This is made possible through the patented BOSE Centerpoint technology. It has14 loudspeakers and a 160-watt subwoofer with a Class D output stage. There are also nine amplifier channels to help get that amazing aural experience.
