Qoros will debut two concepts and first production car at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show

Article by Christian A., on January 21, 2013

Qoros, the new international car brand, will make its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It will be displaying the Qoros GQ3 compact sedan, its first production car, as well as two concept studies. Qoros proves just how committed the brand is to offering a series of attractive, modern models for customers in Europe and China by introducing the Cross Hybrid Concept and Estate Concept preview future Qoros designs and technologies.

The platform used on the Qoros GQ3 is the same one used on the Cross Hybrid Concept and Estate Concept studies. The Qoros GQ3 will be launched in China in the second half of 2013. The first cars will begin to arrive in Europe later this year.

More Qoros models will be launched at intervals of about six months. The Qoros model range features modern, German-influenced design, world-class safety technology, and the top production quality standards. Every Qoros uses an advanced infotainment system as standard. This system is unique in the automotive sector.

These include comprehensive networking, connectivity and guidance functionality. An international team of experienced specialists and new, young automotive talent are responsible for the design and engineering of this model. It will be produced in Changshu, China, at a new assembly plant. Executive Director of Design, Gert Volker Hildebrand had headed the development of the two Qoros concept studies, which demonstrate the application of signature styling themes that debuted on the Qoros GQ3 sedan for possible future compact hatchback crossover and estate variants.

The Cross Hybrid Concept uses an innovative hybrid drive system. Because of intelligent control software, a seamless transition is ensured between petrol-engined front-wheel drive, electric motor rear-wheel drive, and an all-wheel drive mode using both power units together. Due to numerous alternative seating and luggage storage options, the Estate Concept offers a generous and flexible interior space. The cabin is very practical for both daily trips and distant travel because of its many storage compartments and accessories.
