2010 Kia Sorento

The 2010 Kia Sorento will be shown next month at the Geneva Motor Show although an official image is now available for everybody. From the outside the Sorento appears to have grown longer and this is strengthened by talks that a third row of seats have been installed for more seating capacity. Kia will introduce the car in the South Korean market this April with a 2.4-liter Theta II gasoline powerplant at the bottom, then it will be followed by a 2.7-liter gasoline unit for the top with a 2.2 liter turbocharged diesel R-engine joining the lineup which is Euro5 compliant. It comes with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) that assists in creating cleaner CO2 emissions. The maximum power yield for the R-engine is 200PS (147kW) and 321lb-ft (436Nm) of torque. It is equipped with a 6-speed auto transmission. The average fuel economy rating of this vehicle is 14.1km/liter (20mpg UK) making it more economical than the Sportage. Markets of America will receive a 2.4-liter unit or a 3.8 Lambda V6 with and estimated 270hp (199kW) power yield. [source kia-world]
